In difficult economic times, it is often the innocent domestic animals who are the first victims. People who find themselves unable to pay veterinary bills, or find that they have to downsize, often give up their pets. The fortunate pets get successfully rehomed, but so many more are simply abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Pets who have spent their lives being cared for and loved suddenly have no warm place to sleep, no food and water bowl waiting, and danger everywhere; danger from wild animals, starvation, larger domestic animals, and danger from humans.
Thankfully, there are many organizations working to save these precious lives. Pleasant Ridge Sanctuary is dedicated to helping these groups of caring people in their efforts to save these abandoned pets.
Listed below are some of the adoptable animals and the contact information. All animals adopted through our organization will be spay/neutered and up-to-date with their vaccinations.
The following are some of the animals available for adoption.
This baby needs a home or foster. If interested, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com.
The momma cat scheduled to go to a farm as a barn cat as soon as a foster is found for the baby. They both need out of the shelter cage. This is beautiful Emily. She was attempting to join one of our managed feral colonies. Her long hair along with being a stranger to the established colony cats, left her ill-equipped to become a member of the colony. It was decided that she would likely perish if returned to the colony, so she is now in a foster home. Emily has made great progress, but needs the right person to bond with in order to become the loving kitty we all know she can be. She is approximately 2 years old, and in excellent health with no litterbox problems. If you feel you are the right person for this baby or would like more information, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com.
Meet Ricky, a 2 year old boy who was pulled from a kill shelter as a kitten. He is very loving with his foster mom, but skittish around strangers. He loves attention and will come up and tap you on the arm to be petted and loved on. He will probably do well in a calm home environment without young children. If you are interested in this wonderful boy or would like more information, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com. This is Jessika. She is almost 2 years old and was rescued from a feral colony. It was discovered during a TNR clinic that little Jessika has a deformed jaw and while she is able to eat, she could be at risk if returned to the colony. She has been in her foster home for quite some time and is still semi-feral although she has made progress. With more individual attention than can be given to her in a multiple cat foster home, and with the right person and patience, we are sure she will become a loving companion. If you are interested in adopting her or would like to offer her a foster home with lots of individual attention, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com.

Another Momma cat and kittens rescued by 9th Life Catpack. If you are interested in the momma cat or one of the kittens or would like more information contact catlovers.val@gmail.com
This is Roxie...She is a beautiful 4 year old calico girl who loves her humans and loves to cuddle. Roxie sleeps with her foster mom and makes herself comfortable on the back of the recliner to watch TV with the family. She gets along well with dogs and older children, but she doesn't want to be around other cats. Roxie was adopted but returned after a year due to litter box problems. We discovered that the other cat in the home was attacking her when she was in the litter box. Since being removed from the dominant cat issue, her litter box issues have vanished. Her foster mom says she has a home with her forever if needed, but she has 3 cats of her own and Roxie would prefer to be in a single cat home. If you are interested in this wonderful calico girl contact donna@pleasantridgesanctuary.org.
Meet Lucy. She is one of the sweetest kitties we've ever known. She acts as a surrogate momma cat to all the orphan kittens her foster mom takes in. She cleans them, snuggles them and even lets them nurse although she has been spayed for over a year. She came to us as a stray who was obviously someone’s pet before being lost or abandoned. Lucy does not bite or scratch and has no litter box issues and loves to be petted and brushed. She NEVER puts her claws out and never scratches anything but the scratching post. She loves people and other cats and never picks fights. If you are interested in this precious girl or would like more information, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com. This is 4 year old Daffodil, “the diva”. She does not like to be picked up, but she is a very loving girl and sleeps with her foster mom. This sweet girl is a big talker and will hold an entire conversation with you. Daffy does not bite or scratch and has no litter box issues. She will do well in a calm home environment without young children. If you are interested in this wonderful kitty or would like more information, contact catlovers.val@gmail.com.
